Ben Affleck's Batman will replace Michael Keaton in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom

Ben Affleck 's return came as a surprise to fans as the actor had mentioned that the upcoming Flash movie would be his last outing as the caped crusader.

And DC had confirmed that Michael Keaton would be replacing the actor, playing an older version of the character in future DCEU movies.

However, due to a change in release dates of upcoming projects, we will have to wait till The Flash movie eventually comes out to see Micheal Keaton make his debut in the DCEU.

Keaton is also set to have a big role in the upcoming Batgirl movie for HBO Max, and while the movie does have an official release date, we can hope it comes out soon.

According to insider KC Walsh, "[It] looks like they are replacing the [Michael Keaton] scenes with Affleck, remember [Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom] was originally supposed to come out after The Flash and audiences were confused by his inclusion."

There are also rumors that DC has plans for a Crisis on Infinite Earths movie which will work as a reboot for the DCEU.

Warner Bros had recently made it official that Ezra Miller was fired from his role as The Flash and the upcoming Flash movie would be his last appearance.

Ben Affleck's return to the role could have to do with the overwhelming positive love and support he received from fans after the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Hopefully, the actor will stick around for future projects and not hang up his cape.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman.

The movie is set to release on March 17, 2023.
