Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 teaser: Kartik Aaryan gets into tantric mode but is that Manjulika singing 'Ami je tomar'?

The first teaser of Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is out now. The movie which is the sequel to the Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer 2007 horror comedy opens with a chilling recall of the movie’s ‘bhoot’ Manjulika.

From the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 teaser, it looks like we are all set to witness the return on Manjulika singing ‘Ami je tomar’ but despite an old ghost the movie has a new ghost buster. While the teaser opens on a chilling note of the ghost being set free, it also introduces Kartik Aaryan as the new ‘tantrik’ who will be seen getting rid of the evil spirit in the house.

Kartik’s introduction also comes with the signature ‘Bhool Bhualiyaa’ tune as he dresses like a tantric in black. All the call backs to the original make us wonder if we will see any cameos from the first film in the sequel. While questions have been raised about Akshay Kumar or Vidya Balan’s possible appearance in the film, so far no cameos have been confirmed even though Rajpal Yadav marks his return in the film.

While there is no sign of Kiara Advani or Tabu in the teaser, it does come with a release date announcement. Anees Bazmee ’s film will arrive in cinemas on 20 May, 2022. The film, it seems, will be clashing at the box office with actress Kangana Ranaut ’s actioner Dhakaad which released its teaser on Tuesday evening.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been in the making since before the pandemic and finally finished production last year after several delays. The movie has been a long awaited sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa and will the first time we see Kartik and Kiara share screen together.

With the film over a month away from release, we can expect this short teaser to be followed by a full fledged trailer in a few weeks.
