Brahmastra trailer: Ranbir Kapoor as 'Agni Astra' along with Alia Bhatt & Amitabh Bachhan set out to save world

    Written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film marks the first collaboration of Ranbir Kapoor with his wife Alia Bhatt. It is scheduled to release on September worldwide.

    Finally, the wait is over! The long-awaited trailer of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra : Part One is unveiled today as promised by the makers. The trailer showcases the ancient forces, Astraverse with impactful VFX shots at the backdrop of the beautiful love story of Shiva and Isha.

    About three minutes-long trailer opens with legendary Amitabh Bachchan ’s voice-over narrating how the five elements -fire, water, air, wind, and space constitute the power in astras called Brahmastra. Ranbir Kapoor is introduced as Shiva who poses these powers and has no clue about his identity. He meets girl-next-door Isha played by Alia Bhatt and romance brews between them with Kesariya song playing in the background.

    The latter half of the trailer shows the face-off between good and evil. While Amitabh as Guru and Nagarjuna as Anish join forces to tell Shiva(Ranbir) how he is connected to the world of astras. Shiva then assumes his role as saviour as he battles against the villain Mouni Roy .

    Written and directed by Ayan Mukerji , the film marks the first collaboration of Ranbir Kapoor with his wife Alia Bhatt. This is also the first film in which the two will appear after getting hitched in April. To note, Ayan took nine years to establish India’s own cinematic universe--the Astraverse in Brahmastra.

    The upcoming film is reported to be mounted on a huge scale of Rs 300 crore. While speaking at the trailer launch, Ayan said, “Marking the beginning of a new cinematic universe, The Astraverse, I believe Brahmāstra is the kind of film that the country would feel really proud of. It touches on our roots; celebrates our rich culture and it takes us forward with our technology. The film is proudly Indian and Imaginative and bringing together some of Pan-India’s most renowned names was a dream come true!” After infinite delays, the pan-India film is scheduled to release on September 9 in five languages- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
