'Can't replace Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston': Anil Kapoor & Aditya Roy Kapur share The Night Manager first look, fans aren't convinced

    After Malang(2020), Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur joined forces to entertain the audience with the Hindi adaptation of the British TV series, The Night Manager. On Monday, Anil shared the first look of the upcoming Hotstar Special series, wherein he and Aditya could be seen dressed in formal attires walking away from the airplane blasts behind them.

    Sharing the first motion poster on Instagram, Anil wrote, “Duniya ke sabse dangerous arms dealer ko rokne ke liye there is only one weapon - ek hotel ka night manager.” in the film, Anil Kapoor is set to step into the shoes of Hugh Laurie, while Aditya Roy Kapur takes up the role originally played by Tom Hiddleston. Soon after the fans of the British TV series unconvinced by its adaptation idea expressed their views.

    “Adapting #JohnLeCarre to the screen is a tough proposition.Getting even 10% of the original author's interpretation/vision (contextualised to the local market, of course) would be a remarkable achievement. Don't have high hopes, but fingers crossed!” wrote one of the Twitterati. Another commented, “Let see how they adapt. The original one was one of the best.” One comment read, “Nah man. You can't replace Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston like that.”

    “Complete copy of the BBC series the night manager, such a shame,” added another.

    Created by Sandeep Modi, The Night Manager will based on John le Carre’s TV series which will see Ani in the role of a weapons dealer who disguises himself as a business tycoon. On the other hand, Aditya to be featured as the night manager of a luxury hotel and a former soldier. Besides them, the series also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Saswata Chatterjee, and Ravi Behl, among others. Meanwhile, previously Anil and Aditya shared screen space in Mohit Suri’s mystery thriller Malang. The film also featured Disha Patani and Kunal Kemmu.
