Deepika Padukone roped in for Brahmāstra 2; will be playing this character in the Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer

There are many reasons why Ayan Mukerji ’s Brahmāstra is one of the most awaited films of the year. Not only does it mark Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt ’s first film together, but also stars an ensemble star cast of incredible actors including Amitabh Bachchan , Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy . But that’s not all! Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in an exciting cameo and has a prolonged action scene in the film. Recently reports also suggested that Deepika Padukone will be seen in a special appearance.

Well, a report shared by Pinkvilla has now revealed that Deepika has been roped in for the second part of Brahmāstra. A source was quoted saying, “The makers have locked Deepika Padukone to play the character of Parvati. In-fact, Deepika will also make a cameo towards the end of Brahmāstra, which will eventually take the film into the second part.” She has already shot for this scene. What’s interesting is that Brahmāstra Part One follows the story of Isha and Shiva whereas the next part will focus on Parvati and MahaDev, which is another character that will be introduced in part 2.

The source went on to reveal, “All the characters are interlinked. It's Ayan's own universe deep rooted in Indian mythology. The world is unlike anything one has seen before in world cinema.” Alia and Ranbir will continue to be seen as Isha and Shiva in the next two parts of this trilogy. Well, seeing Alia, Ranbir and Deepika together will surely be a treat for movie lovers!
