Double XL Trailer: Sonakshi Sinha & Huma Qureshi are unabashedly awesome as they fight against unrealistic beauty standards

All over the globe, there are several individuals who are unnecessarily shamed on the basis of their bodily features. It is wrong and hurtful, but sadly it is also common. This is because an unreal standard of beauty has been set by some, and it is believed to be normal. Well, Bollywood stars Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi are coming together in the upcoming film Double XL to remind us that beauty has nothing to do with how much one weighs. The trailer was dropped today and it promises to be a fun ride. Here’s what we thought of it!

The trailer begins with an introduction to the lead stars-- while Huma plays the role of Rajshree Trivedi who aspires to become a sports presenter, Sonakshi is fashion designer Saira who hopes to have her own brand one day. Their personalities are poles apart, but they have one thing in common. They are dreamers as well as achievers. Double XL follows their journey as they set out to make their dreams come true, being their unabashedly awesome selves. Well, not only do they promise to entertain the audience, but will also hopefully inspire each of us, making us realize the importance of self acceptance!

While Sonakshi and Huma’s on-screen characters are shown to be a little healthy, the two are quite fit in real life. But sadly they have also been victims of body-shaming at some point in their careers. Well, off camera they advocate body positivity and with their upcoming film they have waged war on beauty stereotypes. We have really high expectations from Double XL as well as their performances. Also, special mention to the short but sweet glimpses of Sonakshi and Zaheer Iqbal ’s scenes! We can’t wait to see them together on the silver screen when the film arrives in theatres on 4th November.
