Fukrey 3 vs The Vaccine War box office
Thursday (September 28) saw the release of two movies, both of starkly different genres. The third installment of Fukrey starring the OG cast Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, and Pankaj Tripathi clashed with Nana Patekar’s The Vaccine War. Now, the verdict is out, and it seems like Fukrey 3 has left The Vaccine War far behind when it comes to the first-day collections.
According to a news report in Sacnilk, the Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Richa Chadha, and Pankaj Tripathi starrer has opened at Rs 8.5 crore which is quite decent. The report furthermore said that the Mrighdeep Lamba directorial had an occupancy rate of 22.12 percent on Thursday. The partial holiday due to Ganpati Visarjan and Eid might have also helped the movie. The plot this time around revolves around Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Lali (Manjot Singh), and Chucha (Varun Sharma) on a quest to stop their arch-nemesis Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) from winning the elections.
Now, talking about The Vaccine War, the Nana Patekar starrer opened poorly at the box office. The Vivek Agnihotri directorial earned only Rs 1.3 crore on its first day according to a news report in Sacnilk. Fukrey 3 and Chandramukhi 2 which was released along with it managed to surpass their opening collections. The report furthermore mentioned that the occupancy rate of the movie on Thursday was 10.17 percent. The budget of the film is said to be Rs 10 crore. It is a tribute to the unsung heroes of the pandemic who were the scientists who faced several challenges in developing India’s very own vaccine to combat COVID-19.
Fukrey 3 also stars Manu Rishi Chadha in a pivotal role. Ali Fazal could be seen making a cameo appearance. The Vaccine War also stars Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, and Nivedita Bhattacharya in the lead roles.
