    Janhvi Kapoor 's Good Luck Jerry is finally out for movie lovers to watch. The black comedy crime film directed by Sidharth Sengupta and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, Aanand L Rai and Mahaveer Jain., has been released on Disney+ Hotstar on 29 July.

    Good Luck Jerry, which is the Hindi remake of Nelson’s Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila, is a story of an innocent girl who moves from Bihar to Punjab to end up smuggling drugs to rake up money for treating her ill mother. Janhvi stepped into the shoes of Tamil star Nayanthara, who played the part in the original movie.

    Following the OTT release of the movie, Twitter is abuzz with reactions of movie buffs. Overall, the movie has received mixed reviews. A fan tweeted: “Judging by early review looks like #JanhviKapoor really did it. Her success really feels personal because she is really hardworking and beautiful soul.” There were quite a few who praised Janhvi for her acting skills. “One line review of #GoodLuckJerry: "Janhvi ROCKS! her expression speaks more than her dialogues", wrote one such Twitter user. There were some who particularly liked Janhvi’s serious scenes with her mother. The way she switched her emotions in the movie also seems to have impressed Janhvi’s fans.

    However, the movie failed to leave any mark on a few others. “The second half is dragging. Also, certain developments are convenient and even hurried, including the finale,” wrote a movie buff. For many, the movie holds resembles with Udta Punjab, where Alia Bhatt’s character also ends up into drug trade accidently. 

    Good Luck Jerry also features Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh. Veteran actor Mita Vashisht plays Janhvi’s sick mother. The screenplay has been written by Pankaj Matta. Meanwhile, movie lovers can also watch the original movie Kolamaavu Kokila ZEE5.
