Despite no announcement of an Eternals sequel, Kit Hartington who played Dane Whitman in the movie is most likely to return to the MCU before the sequel in the upcoming Blade movie starring Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.

To those who missed one of the post-credit scenes of the movie involves Dane Whitman opening a case containing his family's long-lost sword as he is about to pick it up, we hear a voice asking him whether he is ready for it.

It was later revealed that the voice belongs to Ali and this was Blade's first voice cameo appearance in the MCU.

In the comics Dan Whiteman is a descendant of Sir Percy also known as The Black Knight who lived during the reign of King Arthur, the Black Knight gains his powers from an ancient sword called The Ebony Sword that grants its user great powers but slowly corrupts their mind.

This curse could be the reason why Blade asked Whiteman if he is ready to use the sword in the post-credit scene.

During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, the actor was asked about his MCU return and gave a somewhat disappointing answer

“I, again…and this is true: I don’t know much of what they’re planning. And you know, I hope to be involved in future stuff, with that character, with Dane Whitman, and that he might go on and be the thing that everyone quotes at me in the street. But I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what their plans are. I know they’re going into a kind of Phase 5"

While the actor's return does not seem to be imminent, he is sure to return and hopefully, fans will get to see him don the iconic Black Knight armor when and where he next appears.

Till then we can keep our fingers crossed and hope that will be in the upcoming Blade movie, which is set to hit theaters on 3 November 2023.
