At the beginning of this year, Shah Rukh Khan made his much awaited comeback after a self-imposed hiatus of over 4 long years. The superstar made history when he arrived on the silver screen in and as Pathaan. The film emerged as the biggest Bollywood opener ever by raking in Rs 57 crore on day one of release and went on to enter the 1000 crore club. Well, yesterday on 7th September, the king of Bollywood returned to theatres with his second film of the year– Atlee Kumar’s directorial Jawan. Our wait to see him shine again came to an end as he made history again.

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2 has been in the news since the last few weeks for its wonderful work at the box office. Well, Jawan’s first day collection smoothly sailed over Gadar 2’s opening numbers. That’s not all! Shah Rukh and Atlee’s collaboration has also beaten Pathaan’s opening day collection, by becoming the new biggest opener of Bollywood. According to a report shared by Sacnilk Entertainment, Jawan raked in a whopping collection of Rs 75 crore in India. That’s Rs 18 crore more than Pathaan and a smashing Rs 35 crore more than Gadar 2. Meanwhile Jawan's worldwide collection is Rs 150 crore.

Leave it to Shah Rukh Khan to break his own record and make history again! The man can do anything, and he has proven this once again by winning hearts with his seven avatars in the film. While SRK, Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara are being lauded by netizens, another star who is being showered with love is Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone. She had a special appearance in Jawan but she made a huge impact on the audiences with her performance.

We can’t help but wonder if SRK is going to beat the opening day record once again when he returns with Dunki in December. The superstar is unstoppable!
