    Shah Rukh Khan’s actioner Jawan has been breaking several records at the box office. It has achieved the new feat of becoming the highest-grossing film on the first Saturday, by collecting a whopping Rs 74.5 crore. It has also created a new benchmark for Hindi films after it crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in just three days.

    According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film made Rs 66 crore in Hindi, Rs 5 crore in Tamil and 3.5 crore in Telugu. The film had an overall occupancy of 62.85% in Hindi 54.35% in Tamil and 68.74% in Telugu. The majority of earnings are coming from Hindi-speaking states like Kolkata and Delhi. The total domestic collection stands at Rs 202.73 crore as per reports. It is expected that the fourth-day collection will be in the range of Rs 80 crore for all languages.

    Talking about worldwide collection, the film has already earned Rs 129 crore on its opening day. With the addition of second-day earnings, the total worldwide collection stood at Rs 240.47 crore as per the film’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment. With these historic figures, the film has emerged as the top Hindi opener of the year, the fastest to enter Rs 200 crore, beating Pathaan and Gadar 2, which could manage to reach this in 3 days and 5 days respectively.

    Directed by Atlee, Jawan is a father-son story that addresses social and political issues with high-octane action sequences. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in lead roles, while Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt made special appearances. The supporting cast includes Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Varun Groverriyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Eijaz Khan. Backed by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma, the film was released worldwide on September 7, 2023.
