'Kaithi 2' will be the next installment in the LCU after Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo'

2019s Kaithi was a critical and commercial success and was the first installment in director Lokesh Kangaraj's cinematic universe ( LCU ).

Now director Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy filming the third installment in the LCU, ' Leo ' which stars Thalapathy Vijay in the lead.

There have been a lot of rumors on what will be the next entry in the LCU after Leo, many speculated between the Rolex spinoff starring Suriya, Vikram 2, or Kaithi 2.

And now according to a new report, the fourth entry in the LCU will be Kaithi 2 which is expected to go into pre-production after the release of Leo.

Currently director Lokesh Kanagaraj and cast of Leo are filming in Kashmir. Leo is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023 and the third entry in director Lokesh Kannakaraj's cinematic universe ( LCU ).

The movie is produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banner Seven Screen Studio.

The cinematography will be handled by Manoj Paramahamsa. The movie will be edited by Philomin Raj who worked on the previous entries of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

There has been a lot of speculation about the plot of the movie and there is a rumor that the movie has a similar plot to the 2005 Hollywood action movie 'A History of Violence'.

In which a family man is forced to confront this violent past after he encounters someone from his old life as a gangster.

Trisha Krishnan has been cast as the female lead in the movie opposite Vijay. Leo will see Vijay and Trisha reunite after a gap of 15 years, their last movie together was the 2008 action movie Kuruvi.

The full cast of the movie includes Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Manobala, and Janany Kunaseelan.

While we do know the main cast of the movie, there is a strong possibility that the movie will have cameos from actors like Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, and Fahadh Faasil.

Leo will hit theaters worldwide on 20 October 2023.
