Kartik Aaryan gets Rahul Roy’s blessings for Aashiqui 3: 'He has a history of picking the right films'

Apart from being a bankable actor, Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan is one of the most adored stars of the country. Fans love watching him shine on screen and the whopping collection made by his horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is proof of the same. Well up next Kartik has an enviable line up of exciting films. One of the most awaited in the list is Aashiqui 3 , which he announced last month. Makers are currently on the lookout for a female lead, but rumors suggest that the team is strongly considering National Crush Rashmika Mandanna.

Well, in a recent chat with Pinkvilla OG Aashiqui star Rahul Roy , who headlined the original film in 1990, shared his thoughts on Kartik’s Aashiqui 3. He was quoted saying, “The presentation might be innovative and exciting for today’s audience, and I have no doubt about it… It will be a huge struggle for Kartik to live up to.” Rahul went on to add, “Kartik is a wonderful young actor. He has a history of picking the right films. I haven’t spoken with him yet, but I hope to do so soon… The box-office figures are also working in Kartik’s favour, so I wish him all the best in continuing the great franchise.”

Well, living up to the hype set by the original as well as Aashiqui 2, which featured Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, will be challenging. But fans have very high expectations from Kartik! We can’t wait to see him win hearts yet again with his performance in Aashiqui 3. Apart from this project, the actor’s other releases include Shashanka Ghosh's romantic thriller Freddy, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi remake titled Shehzada with Kriti Sanon and social drama Captain India. He will also reunite with Kiara Advani in love saga Satyaprem Ki Katha.
