‘Maza nhi aya, SRK chahiye’: Ranveer Singh impresses in Don 3 teaser, but fans miss Shah Rukh Khan; watch

Amitabh Bachchan set the bar pretty high with his spectacular performance as Don in 1978. This is a reason why a few movie lovers were skeptical when Shah Rukh Khan took over the crime action thriller franchise with Farhan Akhtar’s 2006 film. But SRK gave a new meaning to the franchise as well as the character and left us wanting more as Don. So when it was hinted yesterday that another hero will be taking the franchise forward, fans were obviously miffed. Most netizens demanded SRK’s return and some even trolled the makers, predicting they would fail like Adipurush did.

But the first teaser of Don 3 is now out and it is quite impactful. Yes, no one can replace Shah Rukh Khan. But Ranveer Singh, Bollywood’s livewire and superstar in the making, has done a fantastic job of stepping into the big shoes. Thanks to rumours we already knew that he will be taking over as the new Don. But seeing him in the teaser, in this breathtaking avatar, is no less than a pleasant surprise. Even though you miss Shah Rukh's magic, you know that Ranveer will do complete justice to the beloved character, who has a special place in our hearts. Even his dialogue delivery is on point. As expected, netizens have mixed reactions to Ranveer’s intro as Don. Some are incredibly happy to see him. For instance, one fan wrote: “Entering the new era of Don, Ranveer Singh, the most skilled actor of his generation, is poised to elevate his performance to greater heights”, whereas another comment read: “I'm Jabra fan of shahrukh khan.. it's hurt...but ranveer you can do it...now it's your responsibility.” A third netizen called Ranveer: “The one man who can do it all😍.” But there are many who want SRK back as Don. One social media user stated: “Ranveer is a GREAT actor; but he's just not Don. He lacks that gravitas. Maybe in another 10 years or so... he might fit into the role.
