According to a new report, Mohanlal's spy thriller Ram and Dulqueer Salmaan's gangster movie King of Kotha may be clashing at the box office this Onam.

Both movies have a lot of hype surrounding them. Ram is directed by Drishiym director Jeethu Joseph who has a great track record with Mohanlal and King of Kotha and will mark the directorial debut of Abhilash Joshiy, son of veteran Malayalam filmmaker Joshiy.

Ram began production in January 2020 and had to be put on hold due to the pandemic, as there were several scenes meant to be shot in London.

There were even rumors that the movie had been shelved but these rumors are thankfully not true as director Jeethu Joseph revealed that the movie will resume production soon and will be a two-parter.

Trisha Krishnan will be playing the role of Mohanlal's wife Dr. Vineetha. This will be the actress's second Malayalam movie after 2018's Hey Jude in which acted alongside Nivin Pauly.

Joining Mohanlal and Trisha the rest of the cast includes Indrajith Sukumaran, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Adil Hussain, Durga Krishna, Suresh Chandra Menon, and Leona Lishoy

As for King of Kotha, the movie is produced by Dulquer Salmaan under the banner of Wayfarer Films, in association with ZEE Studios.

The cinematography will be handled by Nimish Ravi and the music is composed by Jakes Bejoy. The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Shammi Thilakan.

Tovino Thomas will also have a cameo in the movie. While details on who or what the Minnal Murali star will be playing in the movie are a mystery, rumors are floating around that it may be something similar to Suriya's appearance as Rolex on Vikram.

Both King of Kotha and Ram: Part 1 is expected to hit theaters this August.
