Rajinikanth wraps up Kerala shoot of Jailer, team to begin work on final schedule soon

    The team of the highly anticipated mass action movie Jailer has wrapped the Kerala schedule of the movie and is prepping to start the final Chennai schedule soon.

    Initially, the Kerala schedule was supposed to be shot in the studio, using a green screen but Rajinikanth insisted that the movie be shot on location to make it more authentic.

    In Jailer Rajinikanth plays the role of a Muthuvel Pandian the warden of the notorious prison. However, the plot of the movie remains under wraps.

    But there is a rumor floating around that in the movie warden Muthuvel Pandian will have to protect his prison after a group of armed thugs breaks in to rescue their captured leader.

    The movie is expected to enter post-production by April 15. The movie will be the first time Rajinikanth will be working with director Nelson, The director's last movie was the Beast which starred Vijay in the lead role.

    Jailer will be the first time Rajinikanth will be working with Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, the movie also marks the actor's Tamil debut.

    Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has also joined the cast of the movie. This will be the second time Rajinikanth and Jackie Shroff will be working together after the 1987 Bollywood movie 'Uttar Dakshin'.

    Recently director Nelson roped in Malayalam superstar Mohanlal for a cameo in the movie. The project was announced by Sun Pictures in February and production officially started in July with shooting taking place in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore.

    Tamannaah Bhatia has been roped in to play a major role in the movie, marking the first time the actress will be sharing the big screen with Superstar Rajinikanth.

    The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan.

    Jailer will be dubbed in all major Indian languages and is expected to hit theaters worldwide in August.
