Shazam 2 director David F. Sandberg address reshoot rumors and why Mr. Mind was cut from the sequel

    In a recent interview, the director debunked rumors that the movie is going through reshoots and why he chose to cut Mr.Mind from the upcoming sequel.

    After the recent announcement by Warner Bros Studio that Shazam! Fury of the Gods was delayed, and rumors started floating around that the reason was that the movie was going through reshoots.

    Director David F. Sandberg was quick to dismiss the rumors, the director made his mainstream debut in 2019 with Shazam!

    The movie is currently the second-best-rated movie in the DCEU and managed to gross over 350 million dollars worldwide.

    In the sequel, Shazam will take on the Titans Hespera and her sister Kalypso played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu respectively.

    In honor of Labor Day Sandberg took to Instagram and hosted an impromptu Q&A session where he addressed the reshoot rumors and why he choose not to use Mr. Wise and the main antagonist of the sequel as was hinted at in the post-credit scene of Shazam.

    The director also revealed that Mr. Mind was initially going to play a major role in the sequel but was ultimately cut to make sure that the movie didn't have too many villains.

    The movie boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou, and Helen Mirren.

    Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit theaters on March 17, 2023.
