The production of Ajith 'Ak 62' has had a few delays in its production first with director Vignesh leaving the project earlier this year due to creative differences and recently after the tragic death of the actor's father P Subramaniam.

Lyca productions recently announced that they have spoken with Ajith about the project and that it will enter production this May.

Magizh Thirumeni known for movies like Kalaga Thalaivan and Thadam took over the reins of Ak 62 after Vignesh left the project.

There was a lot of good buzz surrounding the project, such as the movie will feature both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishna in major roles.

And Arvind Swami has been cast as the main antagonist in the movie, which had many Ajith fans excited about the project.

The shooting for the project was scheduled to begin in the first week of May in Mumbai and is expected to wrap up in 35-40 days.

However, with the change in direction for AK62, we will have to wait a while till we can know more about the plot and cast of the movie.

Anirudh was initially roped in to do the music for the project but had to set away due to a change in schedule, Santhosh Narayanan has taken over and Nirav Shah known for his work in movies like Dhoom, Wanted, and 2.0 is in charge of cinematography.

As for Ajith, his first movie of 2023, the heist-thriller movie Thunivu directed by H. Vinoth has a massive hit at the box office and has 220 crores, making it one of the highest-grossing movies of the new year.

Thunivu was the third collaboration between Ajith and the director after 2019s Nerkonda Paarvai and 2022s Valimai.

The full cast of the movie includes Manju Warrier as Kanmani, Samuthirakani as Dayalan, Ajay as Ramachandran, GM Sundar as Muthazhagan, Veera as Radha, John Kokken as Krish, Bhagavathi Perumal as Rajesh, and Prem Kumar as Prem.
