Suhana Khan in The Archies
Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Not only does it take us back to Riverdale which we were first introduced to in Archie comics, but also marks the debut of three star kids– Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan. Well, the trailer was dropped yesterday and one of the first people to share their review of the same was Bollywood’s king SRK. He lauded the theme and wished the team luck, while describing it as a ‘sweet and meaningful fun film’.
Well, a report shared by Hindustan Times has now revealed that Tiger 3 is not the only film that Shah Rukh has a cameo in this year. He will also be a part of The Archies, according to their sources. Rumours suggested that he is playing Veronica's father in the film. But that's not true. The report reveals, “He is connected to the project, and it is a special one for him as it marks Suhana’s entry in the industry. He wanted to be part of the project in some way, due to which he has a special connection to it.” The report clarified that he either has a special appearance in the film or could be the narrator of The Archies. We will just have to wait and watch.
The source further added, “The whole team is hush hush about his involvement, as they want to keep it a surprise. That being said, it will definitely be a special one for him and his fans.” Now that’s an exciting turn of events we are eagerly waiting to witness. While Suhana will be seen as Veronica in the teen musical comedy, Khushi is portraying the role of Betty. Agastya, on the other hand, is playing Archie Andrews. Also starring Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Dot and Yuvraj Menda, The Archies is all set to premiere on Netflix on 7th December.
