Tiger 3 Box Office Day 1: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's film sees a bumper opening despite mixed reviews

    According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Yash Raj Films’ spy thriller earned Rs 44.50 Cr India net on its first day for all languages (early estimates).

    While most of the critics gave mixed reviews to Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3, the audience showered love on the spy thriller. The film opened on a positive note at the box office, creating havoc at the ticket window. Despite being a Diwali release, the film managed to register an impressive opening collection of more than Rs 40 crore at the box office.

    According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Yash Raj Films’ spy thriller earned Rs 44.50 Cr India net on its first day for all languages (early estimates). The film had an overall 41.32% Hindi Occupancy on Sunday, out of which night shows had a major contribution. Chennai and Hyderabad witness large footfall as compared to Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata as per reports.

    A day ahead of its release, trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave an insight into the advance booking status. He shared that the film had already sold 1.99 lakh tickets at national chains and wrote, “Exclusive…Tiger 3 advance booking status at national chains… Note: [Sunday] Day 1 tickets sold…PVR Inox: 1.61 lacs, Cinepolis: 38,000, Total: 1.99 lacs tickets sold.” Meanwhile, it is predicted that the collection may see a dip on the first Monday even though it is the second holiday after Diwali. As per Sacnilk, the film has already earned around 16.64 Cr India net on its second day for all languages updated till 1 pm.

    Tiger 3 sees Salman’return as superspy Avinash Singh Rathore alias Tiger, and Katrina Kaif as Zoya. Emraan Hashmi is the latest addition to the film, which also stars Ashutosh Rana, Riddhi Dogra, Revathi and Vishal Jethwa. Set after the events of Pathaan, the film witnesses Salman’s race against time to save both his family and country. The movie marks the fifth film in the YRF Spy Universe, conceptualised by Aditya Chopra. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film arrived in theatres on Diwali.i.e November 12, 2023.
