Varun Dhawan to start shooting for The Citadel remake with Samantha from July, series to be helmed by Raj & DK
Varun Dhawan and Samantha will start shooting for the Hindi remake of The Citadel. The show will be helmed by Raj & DK.
The Citadel which is being helmed by the Russo Brothers of Avengers fame with Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden will also have a Hindi remake. The Hindi adaptation will be starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles and will be helmed by Raj & DK. Now the latest development surrounding the project is that Varun and Samantha are expected to shoot for the same from July this year.
A source close to the development revealed to Pinkvilla that Citadel’s shooting will begin from July this year if there are no obstacles owing to the pandemic. The source further added that while some portions of the movie will be shot in Mumbai, others will be filmed at international locations. The makers reportedly wish to shoot some portions of the show in Europe but the locations will only be finalized after the recce that will begin soon.
The report further mentioned that the search for the other supporting cast members will also begin soon. Apart from this, Varun Dhawan is also expected to undergo intense physical training. The report stated that the Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor will be performing some high octane stunts in the show and will thus be prepping for martial arts for the same. The actor will begin his prepping session in advance.
Meanwhile, apart from this, Varun Dhawan also has Jug Jugg Jeeyo in the pipeline. The movie also stars Kiara Advani , Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles. The actor will then be seen in the horror-comedy film Bhediya opposite Kriti Sanon .
Talking about Samantha, she also has some exciting projects in the pipeline. The actress will be seen in Kaathy Vaakula Rendu Kadha opposite Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. She also has the ambitious project Shakuntalam in the line-up. Samantha will furthermore be seen in Hari Shankar’s Yashoda.
