Trisha is currently promoting the upcoming Ponniyen Selvan 2.

Trisha Krishan and the rest of the cast of Ponniyin Selvan are busily promoting the movie which will be hitting theaters worldwide this month.

But Tamil movie fans couldn't help but ask her about her other big project of the year Leo , in which she will be working with Vijay.

The actress was tight-lipped about the project and said that she will talk more about the project during Leo's promotion tour.

Leo will see Vijay and Trisha reunite after a gap of 15 years, their last movie together was the 2008 action movie Kuruvi.

This movie will also mark their fifth collaboration after Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, and Kuruvi, three of which have been massive box-office successes.

The movie is the third installment in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Cinematic Universe(LCU) after 2019's Kaithi which starred Karthi and 2022s Vikram which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead.

As for Ponniyin Selvan 2 , the movie is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel, Ponniyin Selvan, Which focuses on the Chola dynasty specifically Rajaraja Chola and his rise to power.

Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 was a huge critical and commercial success becoming the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2022 and the fifth highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time with a total box office collection of 500 crores.

The franchise was long thought to be unadaptable for the big screen with countless stars and producers trying and failing over the years including MGR and Kamal Hassan.

Veteran director Mani Ratnam has been trying for years to get the movie made and finally got the project in motion in 2019.

Ponniyin Selvam 2 clocks in at two hours and thirty-seven minutes, and whole ten minutes shorter than Part 1.

The music for the movie is composed by A.R. Rahman and the first single titled Aga Nga has crossed over 18 million views on Youtube in less than two weeks.

Ponniyin Selven boasts of an ensemble main cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Prabhu.
