The year 2017 has been a mixed bag so far in terms of a number of hits, superhits, and blockbusters and there are only 9 films this year that grossed the 100 crores mark at the box office. While it was expected from a number of films to set new records and standards for upcoming Bollywood films, a majority of them tanked at the box office.
The content-driven films ruled the box office and the audiences preferred to watch these films instead of the big budgeted potboilers. Raabta- The Sushant Singh Rajput led film became one of the biggest flops of 2017 and ended up grossing 21.6 crores at the box office.
Commando 2- The Vidyut Jammwal starrer sequel was a flop at the box office and garnered collections of 21.6 crores at the box office.
Munna Michael- The Tiger Shroff-Nawazudding Siddiqui starrer dance film was a huge flop and grossed only 33 crores in India.
Jagga Jasoos- The Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer directed by Anurag Basu was one of the biggest box office disasters of 2017. it grossed only 53 crores.
Jab Harry Met Sejal- The Shahrukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer film had high expectations but ended up grossing only 61 Crores.
