Being the daughter of one of India’s most celebrated badminton players Prakash Padukone, she has had a keen interest in sports from a young age and had an extremely disciplined childhood. Well the beauty recently featured in Nat Geo’s Mega Icons and took a stroll down memory lane, remembering her school days and daily routine.

Deepika recalled, “As soon as I would finish school, there was no time to chitchat with friends so I would get home, change, have a snack, go to the badminton court, have dinner, be exhausted by that point and go to sleep and then the same thing again.” That’s not all! Deepika also received special treatment at school thanks to her father’s popularity. She revealed that her teachers used to tell her, “We would have punished you but we are big fans of your father.”

Growing up, the actress did not get to enjoy late nights, television or films. She explained, “Sport teaches you sacrifice, discipline, dedication and determination.” Well even today, Deepika leads a very disciplined life.
