Sanjay Leela Bhansali Announces Gangubai Kathiawadi With Alia Bhatt, Finalises The Release Date!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s collaboration with Salman Khan might not be on the cards after Inshallah was shelved, but his collab with Alia Bhatt is definitely happening. It was said that Alia Bhatt will be doing a film on Madam of Kamathipura, Gangubai Kothewali. In fact, it was also said that the film will be titled the same. But finally, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has broken his silence. Not only is the film happening, but it has also got a title and a release date.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has announced the title of the film to be Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film would have Alia playing the titular role. It will be based on the life of Madam Of Kamathipura who was known as Gangubai Kothewali and the film will be based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s book. Gangubai Kathiawadi will release on 11^th September, 2020. Sanjay Leela Bhansali will also team up with Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India Ltd. for the release of the film.

Well, apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt will be seen in Bhrahmastra in Summer 2020. She is currently busy shooting for her father Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial film, Sadak 2 alongside Aditya Roy Kapoor. She will also be a part of Takht and her name is also being considered for Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s next, Murthy.
