Vivek Agnihotri is probably best known for directing the highly erotic thriller Hate Story . The film got in trouble with the Censor Board due to its explicit scenes as well as the use of abusive words. After a lot of cuts, the film finally released and did average business at the box-office. But it was commercially successful enough to start a full-fledged franchise which treats its women nothing less than sex-objects.

Now, we know the director has the right to free speech but it seems he forgot that he directed Hate Story which objectified women and treated them as nothing but sex-objects and bimbos. The film was made just to sell the sex and it did help in starting a franchise which has done nothing except objectifying its women and maybe having some of the most cringe-worthy dialogues in Bollywood.

What he is stating in his tweet won't be possible until and unless the producers, directors, and writers come up with ideas that don't treat women as eye candies or bimbos. The onus is on the ones making all the decisions. Also, till the time these kinds of films are being made, we can't really expect that there will be a decrease in these kinds of roles.
