The first official trailer for the highly anticipated third season of The Mandalorian is finally here and we see Mando aka Din Djarin and his ward Grogu head to the dangerous wastelands of the planet Mandalore.

We also see them encounter old friends like Greef Karga played by Carl Weathers and Peli Motto played by Amy Sedaris as they help them on their journey.

We also see them being chased by the remnants of the Empire who are still after Grogu, though their motivations remain unclear.

There is a hint that Mando may team up with the New Republic to take on the Empire, as we see Carson Teva a member of the New Republic's Starfighter Corps urging him to join the fight before it's too late.

Of course, the main focus of the new season will be on Mando and Grogu arriving on Mandalore, the abanded home world of the Mandalorians.

Mando hopes to regain his honor after he took off his helmet for the first time in front of strangers, something which is taboo in Mandalorian culture and the only way to do so is in his homeworld.

The third season will consist of eight episodes all of which have been written by showrunners Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, and Noah Kloor.

The eight episodes will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

There is also a rumor floating around that there will be a big reference to the iconic Star Wars villain Darth Maul in the third season.

Moff Gideon played by Giancarlo Esposito will be returning as the main antagonist in the third season despite being captured by Luke Skywalker in the season 2 finale.

The cast of the series includes Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito.

The Mandalorian season three will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 1.
