Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Jennifer is disappointed after winning sexual harassment case against Asit Modi; here’s why

One year ago television actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played the role of Roshan Daruwala Kaur Sodhi, quit the very popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She went on to file a case of sexual harassment against the show’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi along with project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. She couldn’t get any help from the police which led her to approach the Government of Maharashtra. Four months later, her former producer has been found guilty and the verdict is in Jennifer’s favour. However, the actress is disappointed despite her victory.

Talking to ETimes, Jennifer revealed that the verdict was out in February which ordered Modi to pay the actress her due along with a compensation for withholding the payment. As for sexual harassment in the work place, an additional Rs 5 Lakh was imposed on the producer. But Jennifer feels she has not received complete justice. She explained, “It's been over 40 days, and I still haven't received my due amount, which I earned through hard work on the serial. Despite proving Mr. Modi guilty of sexual harassment, no punishment has been given to all three accused. Sohil and Jatin weren't included in the verdict, which disappoints me.”

Moreover, Jennifer is upset that the verdict did not bring her a public apology for all the abuse that she faced at work. The actress also feels the compensation is not enough, looking at the trauma she faced all through the year. Jennifer took to her social media handle to celebrate the victory with her fans, but added that her fight is not over yet. She shared, “I have gone through extreme mental trauma, loss of employment & friends, loss of prestige, medical bills, expenses for the case, etc, all this leaving my 10 year old daughter at home… And what about giving verdict for Sohil Ramani & Jatin Bajaj? No punishment at all to all 3 of them, so I am not satisfied completely…”

Jennifer has thanked the government in her post, but she has also stated that she will not sit quiet. Let’s see what happens next.
