Akshay Kumar has begun shooting for the third installment of his hit franchise Welcome, which is titled Welcome To The Jungle. On Thursday, the actor celebrated the 16 years of completion of the 2007 Welcome with a BTS snippet from the sets of the upcoming film. He posted a video featuring himself with OG Sanjay Dutt. He can be seen riding a horse, while Dutt is seen chasing him on a motorbike.

Taking to Instagram, Akshay also penned a note alongside the video. “What a lovely coincidence that we celebrate 16 years of #Welcome today while I am shooting for the franchise's third part #WelcomeToTheJungle. And it's wonderful to welcome Sanju Baba in this one,” he captioned the post. Soon after, a user commented, “Brought in whole Bollywood except the ones whom we actually wanted😭 Welcome isn't the same without Kat, Anil and Nana.” “Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor 😢this without duo.... Movie 👎” reacted another user.

For the unversed, Welcome(2007) stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Malika Sherawat. Directed by Anees Bazme, the film emerged to be one of the biggest blockbusters of that year. Anil Kapoor, and Nana Patekar reprised their roles for the second installment, Welcome 2, alongside a new cast including John Abraham and Shruti Haasan in 2015. However, the duo are not part of the upcoming third part which has left fans disappointed.

Earlier, Akshay also dropped a BTS scene from the shoot of Welcome To The Jungle with the caption, “Absolute madness of masti begins as we start the shoot of #WelcomeToTheJungle. Will need your wishes for this rollercoaster full of all things fun and crazy :)#Welcome3.” Directed by Ahmed Khan, the upcoming film features an ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueliene Fernandez, Johnny Lever, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Lara Dutta, Rajpal Yadav, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor. Singers Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh are also part of the film.
