    Elvis, the biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann known for critically acclaimed movies like Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby, will hit the big screen this June.

    The movie will chronicle the life of Elvis Presley from his childhood to his rise in fame and his strained relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker played by Tom Hanks .

    Austin Butler of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood fame will be playing the role of the iconic singer. Director Luhrmann revealed in a recent interview that it was actor Denzel Washington who recommended Butler for the role.

    Butler also provided the singing voice for young Elvis and the trailer is full of Elvis' classic hits like "Trouble," "Heartbreak Hotel," " Blue Suede Shoes," and "Suspicious Minds" as well as a remixed version of "Hound Dog".

    The trailer also included the singer's legendary performance at Louisiana Hayride in 1954.

    The movie will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in the Out of Competition category along with movies like Top Gun: Maverick and Three Thousand Years of Longing, the festival will also be celebrating its 74th season this year.

    The cast of the Elvis includes Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Luke Bracey, David Wenham, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Clark Jr., and Richard Roxburgh.

    The movie will hit theaters on June 24, 2022.
