Dasvi trailer: Abhishek Bachchan as corrupt Jaat politician struggles to pass 10th board exam

    The much-anticipated trailer of Dasvi starring Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur has finally released on Wednesday.

    Ever since the first look posters of Abhishek starrer Dasvi surfaced, the film has been garnering a lot of buzz among audiences. And now, the makers have taken their excitement to next level as they have finally released the much-awaited trailer today. Helmed by Tushar Jalota, the film also features Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.

    About three minutes long trailer opens with the introduction of a corrupt politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary played by Abhishek Bachchan . He is being arrested and put behind bars following his involvement in a scam. While Chaudhary is in jail, his wife Bimla Devi (Nimrat Kaur) steps into his shoes as a chief minister. In another scene, Yami Gautam as IPS officer Jyoti Deswal challenges Chaudhary who struggles to get back to books to pass the 10th board exam in jail.

    The trailer shows Abhishek in a desi avatar of a Jaat politician who looks forward to breaking his image of being incompetent illiterate in the film. Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Abhishek wrote,”Public ki demand pe, aur bhaari bharkam vote se, present karte hai #DasviTrailer! #Dasvi”. Take a look:

    With the theme of ‘Hasega India, toh padhega India', the upcoming film attempts to enlighten and entertain audiences at the same time. The film is produced by Jiostudios and Dinesh Vijan ’s Maddock films. Talking about the trailer, Vijan was quoted saying, “The trailer is a sneak peek into the lovely world of Dasvi. Maddock has always backed content based cinema, and Dasvi is yet another attempt at providing a wholesome family watch that entertains and enlightens”. 

    The producer also praised the cast of the film. “Abhishek, Yami and Nimrat have knocked it out of the park. Audiences will fall in love with all three of them by the end,” he added. Meanwhile, Dasvi is slated to stream on OTT platforms Netflix and Jiocinema on April 7, 2022.
