Actor Vishnu Vishal has confirmed in a recent interview that he has signed on for Dhanush's second directorial venture along with SJ Suryah.

The movie will be produced by Dhanush's own production company Wunderbar Films in association with Sun Pictures, this will be the second time Dhanush will be donning the director's cap after 2017s Pa Paandi.

Pa Paandi which he also co-wrote starred veteran actors Rajkiran and Revathi and followed the story of Pandian Pazhanisami(Rajkiran) a retired stuntman who goes off in search of his long-lost love Poonthendra(Revathi).

The movie was a critical and commercial hit and was even remade in Kannada as Ambi Ning Vayassaytho. No doubt Dhanush wants to recreate the success of Pa Paandi with his next directorial venture as well.

Despite having a slow start in 2022 with the action thriller Maaran in which he acted alongside Malavika Mohanan.

Dhanush bounced back by getting cast in The Russo brother action movie The Gray Man in which he starred alongside Hollywood elites like Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas.

He followed this up with Thiruchitrambalam which starred alongside Nithya Menen and was a massive critical and commercial success having grossed around 110 crores at the box office.

His final movie of the year was the supernatural thriller movie Naane Varuvean in which he played the role of twin brothers Prabhu and Kathir. The movie was directed by Selvaraghavan and was a critical and commercial success.

Currently, the actor has two projects lined up for 2023, they are the coming-of-age drama Vaathi in which he will be starring alongside Samyuktha Menon. The movie is directed by Venky Atluri and is being shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

And the action movie Captain Miller directed by Arun Matheswaran. Dhanush will also be reprising his role from Netflix's The Grayman for a spinoff series.

Meanwhile, Vaathi will be hitting theaters worldwide on 17 February 2023.
