The makers of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey have released the second trailer of the movie ahead of its theatrical release on April 14. The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur , Pankaj Tripathi, and Ronit Kamra in the lead roles. It is the remake of the Telugu movie starring Nani and has been helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who had also directed the original film.

Talking about the second trailer of the movie revolves around Shahid Kapoor as Arjun Talwar striving to make a comeback to cricketing. Due to the age factor and lack of practice, he faces many obstacles. His only solace is his son who says that he sees a hero in his father when the latter plays cricket.

Shahid Kapoor’s character then works hard to become a hero in the true sense for his son who he says is the only person who never judged him. The trailer furthermore shows the high and low moments of Shahid’s relationship with his wife played by Mrunal Thakur. Take a look at the heartwarming trailer.

Sharing the trailer on his social media handle, Shahid Kapoor wrote, “Experience his many emotions! Meet Arjun on the 14th.” The makers had earlier shared the first trailer of the movie in November last year. The trailer focused on the deteriorating relationship of Shahid’s character with his wife and his helplessness as well as insecurities as he strives to better his and his family’s life.

In a recent interview with PTI, Shahid Kapoor revealed that he could relate to the sense of demotivation and disconnect that his character in Jersey faces. The Jab We Met actor said, “I have gone through times where I have felt disconnected, demotivated and I could connect with it (this film). I have questioned whether I will ever get to a place where I can choose the work that I want to do or will I have to choose from what is there in front of me and say yes as I can’t keep sitting at home. Those are very difficult times. And in those times either you give up or not. That fire (passion) never went.”
