Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas-Deepika Padukone's sci-fi film gets new release date, fans say 'Coming to conquer again'

After resounding success of Salaar, Prabhas is all geared up for his next film Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-film directed by Nag Ashwin. The film has a stellar star cast such as Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. In the latest development, the makers have pushed further the release date to May 9, 2024.

Earlier, the makers planned Kalki 2898 AD for Sankranthi release, due to extensive post-production work, they have postponed it. On Friday, Prabhas shared a new poster of the film and announced the new release date. In the poster, he can be seen wearing a shied and sporting long hair and beard while a holding a stick in one hand. The poster also has a spacecraft above him. “The countdown to the future has begun! #Kalki2898AD in theatres worldwide on 9th May 2024,” he captioned the post.

Soon after, fans rushed to the comment section to express their excitement about Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. A fan reacted, “Kalki overseas records >>tier1 heros lifetime.” The second fan said, “the world will feel the euphoria that prabhas carry.” The third fan said, “You have the stature to do it success ahead.” “Global box office destruction on May 9th,” said the fourth user. “Hope it will break all existing records,” said the fifth user. “Taking Indian standards to the next level, it's only possible for you king,” read a comment.

Kalki 2898 AD is one of the highly anticipated movies. The makers earlier released the first glimpse of Prabhas in a poster which received social media flak for being too ‘cartoonish’. Backed by Aswini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, the film is made on a budget of ₹600 crore, making it the most expensive Indian film ever made. The film is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi.
