Acclaimed director Vetrimaaran and actor Suriya’s most ambitious project, Vaadi Vaasal, has been one of the most anticipated films Tamil cinephiles are looking forward to. Interestingly, in a recent revelation, Tamil director Vasanthabalan revealed that another popular Tamil director was initially slated to helm Vaadi Vaasal before Vetrimaaran.

In a recent interview, the director, known for Kaaviya Thalaivan, disclosed that Tamil director Lingusamy had initially planned to direct Vaadi Vaasal. However, he couldn't proceed with the project due to script issues. Later, Vasanthabalan himself attempted to work on the project, but he too struggled to develop a compelling script based on the sport of Jallikattu. He said, “Initially, Lingusamy was supposed to direct Vaadi Vaasal, and then I decided to give it a shot and tried to work on the script. However, we couldn't proceed further with a screenplay solely focusing on the sport. But today, Vaadi Vaasal by Vetrimaaran and Suriya will be the most anticipated film in Tamil cinema.”
