Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar accused of advertising prenatal sex determination in a scene, lands in trouble

The trailer of Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which was launched last month, received love from most movie lovers of our country. Not only did it feature a new, never seen before avatar of Bollywood’s livewire Ranveer Singh , but also promised an entertaining story through which makers hope to spread awareness about female infanticide. The cherry on the cake is Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey’s much awaited debut in Hindi films. Well, the film has sadly landed into trouble because of one scene in the trailer.

In the trailer, we see that Ranveer and his wife Shalini find out they are expecting a daughter through prenatal sex determination. They run away from their home to save the life of their unborn girl child from Ranveer aka Jayeshbhai’s parents who wanted a grandson. Today a plea was moved in the Delhi High Court challenging this very scene. Even though the film promotes saving the girl child, makers have been accused of advertising the use of ultrasound for prenatal sex determination.

In a report shared by IANS, petitioner 'Youth Against Crime ', an NGO, filed through Advocate Pawan Prakash Pathak said: "The ultrasound clinic scene where the technology of ultrasound for sex selection is being advertised openly without censor and as per section 3, 3A, 3B, 4, 6 & 22 of the PC & PNDT Act, same is not allowed & hence the instant PIL."

Helmed by Divyang Thakkar , the comedy drama is all set to arrive in theatres on 13th May. According to buzz, CBFC granted Jayeshbhai Jordaar U/A certificate with zero cuts.
