Vettaiyan shoot update: Rajinikanth wraps up his portions, check out the latest pic

Superstar Rajinikanth has officially wrapped up his portions for his upcoming TJ Gnanavel directorial, Vettaiyan. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to make the announcement. They also dropped a photo of the superstar with director TJ Gnanavel alongside other crew members on the sets of the film. “And it is a wrap for our Thalaivar! Superstar. @rajinikanth completes filming his portion for Vettaiyan,” the caption read.

Rana Daggubati spills the beans about the plot of Vettaiyan

In a recent interview, actor Rana Daggubati, who is rumored to be playing the antagonist in the Rajinikanth-starrer, revealed some of the key details of the upcoming film Vettaiyan. He said, “The story is very unlike a usual Rajinikanth garu film, but it is amazing that he is doing a film like that. It has a large cast like Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Fahadh Faasil. It is a drama that is interesting.”

He added, “It's a film between the judiciary, police, and entrepreneurial system. It is quite a well-researched story and it is not a regular Rajinikanth film. I am very happy he chose a film like that and I could be part of it.”

Vettaiyan to have an October release

Initially, the Rajinikanth-starrer was supposed to be released in April 2024. However, due to some technical reasons, the film’s release has been pushed further. However the latest reports have confirmed that Vettaiyan will get a grand worldwide release in October 2024. However, the official release date is yet to be announced.

Cast and crew of Vettaiyan

Vettaiyan boasts an ensemble star cast featuring actors from other industries. Besides Rajinikanth, Vettaiyan also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, GM Sundar, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, and Rakshan, among others. On the technical front, the film’s cinematography is handled by SR Kathir I.S.C, with Philomin Raj handling the edits. The stunts are choreographed by the Anbariv duo, and K Kadhir is the production designer. Billed as an action thriller drama, Rajinikanth will be essaying the role of a cop in the film.
