Koffee With Karan 8: Karan Johar lashes out at trolls slamming Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's episode

The eighth season of Koffee With Karan began with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone gracing the couch together for the first time. The couple opened up about their dating life, situationship to married life in detail, sparking quite an extreme reaction on social media. In the latest episode, the filmmaker addressed the trolls in front of his guests Aditya Roy Kapur and Arjun Kapoor.

Karan stated that Ranveer and Deepika’s episode was honest and heartfelt. “I think all three of kind of came clean on so much of our emotional heft, so many of our feelings. And then there was a ridiculous kind of aftereffect. I just want to put it out there that the episode angered me, and the reaction angered me. I thought it was one of our best episodes. They were outstandingly honest. They were earnest. They spoke so much. They shared so much. They were so gracious.”

He further lashed at the trolls saying, “And then you're f*cking talking about some nonsense. I am like, ‘What do you know about somebody else’s personal life and marriage?' Tu apne ghar pe dekh na (Look at what's happening at your own home) is what I wanted to tell them. I wanted to show them my f*cking middle finger! I am like, you know, just shut up.” For the unversed, Deepika and Ranveer’s episode was trolled widely claiming that it was their attempt to salvage the cracks in their marriage. There were also trollings over Deepika’s statement about her situationship with Ranveer during Ram Leela shoot days.

Meanwhile, workwise, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He is next geared up for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. On the other hand, Deepika appeared as an extended cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. She will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor.
