Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover has often made headlines for his harsh comments and feedback on the ideas pitched on the reality show. Often people had a difficult time cracking a deal with the BharatPe co-founder as it was hard to impress him.

However, we recalled one such episode in which Ashneer was clean-bowled by the startup entrepreneur and called the founder, ‘ Khiladi ’(seasoned player). Yes, we are talking about Raghav Himatsingka, co-founder of Raising Superstars.

In the episode, Raghav came with his wife and company’s co-founder Shraddha Himatsingka. They presented an e-learning platform designed for 0-3-year olds through which parents can identify the skills and talents of their children. During the pitch, Raghav was quick to convince Ashneer, especially with the revenue he was generating per month. He demanded the investment of Rs 1 crore for 2 percent equity in his company.

Impressed by his capabilities and passion, Ashneer called him Khiladi. He said,” Aap manje hue khilade ho, Mujhe lagta hai aap me capability hai, aur yeh segment achha hai.” He was ready to invest Rs 1 crore in the said company but for 5 percent equity. Later, Aman Gupta, BoAt founder, also offered the same investment in return of 4 percent equity. Eventually, Ashneer and Aman jointly cracked the deal with Raghav with the investment of Rs 1 crore in return for 4 percent equity.

Meanwhile, Shark Tank India, an Indian version of Shark Tank US, began airing in December last year and concluded its first season in February this year. The show became popular among audiences of all age groups. Besides Ashneer and Aman, other successful entrepreneurs Namita Thapar (Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh(Sugar cosmetics), Peyush Goyal(Lenskart), Anupam Mittal (Shaadi.com), and Ghazal Alagh (Mamaearth) became part of the judge's panel on the show.
