Social media influencer Sonali Phogat ’s death will now be investigated by the Goa Police as a case of unnatural death has been filed at Anjuna police station. The 42-year-old died in North Goa’s coastal village of Anjuna on Tuesday morning. Sonali’s family members suspected foul play behind her death claiming that she was not feeling well after eating her meal on Monday.

According to Goa DGP Jaspal Singh, the initial investigation of the Bigg Boss ex-contestant's death did not raise any suspicion of foul play. He said that Sonali has gone to Curlies, a beach shack at Arjuna, where she complained about easiness and later she came to the hotel. However, the National Commission for Women has taken cognizance of the matter and set up a two-member fact-finding team. Chairperson Rekha Sharma has asked DGP to inform the commission about the action taken along with the postmortem report. The body was shifted to Goa Medical College for postmortem which will be conducted today as per reports.

The BJP politician suffered a heart attack as per earlier investigation but her family members claim it to be a mysterious death. Her sister Raman has demanded a CBI probe into her death as she claims that she had no such medical problem to have a heart attack. "She cannot have a heart attack. We demand a proper investigation by CBI. My family is not ready to accept that she died of a heart attack. She had no such medical problem," she told ANI. Another sister Sudesh Devi said that Sonali had spoken to their mother hours before her death and said something was being mixed in her food which was affecting her health.

Reportedly, Sonali was in Goa for shooting and was staying at a hotel. She complained of uneasiness on Monday night and spoke to her family members who advised her to visit a doctor immediately. The shocking news of her death due to a heart attack was given to her family members on Tuesday morning. As per ANI, Sonali’s sister Rupesh received a call from Sonali on Monday evening before her death.
