‘Lame gimmick’: Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra announces separation after UT 69 trailer release, netizens react

In July 2021, Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra was released from jail on bail after being arrested for his alleged involvement in a porn racket. He kept a low profile for over a year before tweeting that one day, justice will be served. Till now, he even stepped out with a mask covering his face because he was upset with the media trial he had to undergo. But last month he made his comeback to social media and earlier this week dropped the trailer of his film UT 69. Starring Raj, the movie will give us a brief glimpse into his time in jail.

The trailer received a good reaction from netizens. Shilpa, who has stood by Raj’s side like his pillar of strength, also shared it on social media and wrote: “All the best, Cookie ♥️🧿 You’re a brave man… that’s what I admire the most about you! Here’s to your gumption and positivity!♥️👏🏽🤗.” So it came as a big surprise this morning when Kundra sparked divorce rumours with his latest tweet. He took to his Twitter handle to write: “We have separated and kindly request you to give us time during this difficult period 🙏💔.” Some of his followers were genuinely shocked. However, many called this tweet out as a publicity stunt.

Under Raj’s separation tweet, one netizen wrote: “Come on. Lame gimmick..”, whereas another social media user stated: “Separated from mask, may mask spend rest of his life in solace.” A third comment read: “movie publicity ke liye Kuch bhi kar sakte hai 😂”, while another Twitter user shared, “Don't worry guys , they are separated means. Face Mask and Raj Kundra now separated. #RajKundra #ShilpaShetty.” Another nasty comment read: “If true, good for your wife…”

Well, through the entire media trial and the legal trial, Shilpa has stood by Raj’s side. Just recently they even stepped out together wearing matching masks on date night. Like netizens, we too hope Raj is talking about separating from his masks here!
