Lock Upp: Winner Munawar Faruqui on why he did not talk about his ladylove Nazil on the show

Munawar Faruqui has been basking in his victory after he was crowned as the winner of the reality show Lock Upp . The stand-up comedian also surprised everyone by sharing his pictures with his ladylove Nazil on his social media handle after coming out from the show. Now, in a recent media interaction, Munawar revealed the reason why he had refrained from talking about his girlfriend on the show.

Talking to Etimes about the same, Munawar Faruqui said, “I’ve known Nazil for a year now and we have been dating for a few months. The situation inside the house was not right to talk about Nazil. As I was inside the show and she was outside and I was not there with her at that moment in the outside world so I refrained from revealing her identity. In our life, there are different aspects of us about which we are protective. I don’t think it is wrong to be protective about our loved ones and the moment I came out I posted her picture.”

Apart from this, Munawar Faruqui also praised his girlfriend Nazil for being extremely mature and understanding when asked if she was insecure about his closeness to other female co-contestants like Anjali Arora and Saisha Shinde. He said, “It's human nature to get possessive about your partner. Also, it depends as a couple how much understanding you have. I am very glad and very happy that the type of person I am with she’s very smart, intelligent, and mature. At the same time, she’s very understanding and that’s the reason we are together. Agar hum ek saath hain toh kuch Na kuch Khoobiyaan hongi.”

Munawar Faruqui also credited Lock Upp to make him more expressive and called it a good learning experience. The show was hosted by Kangana Ranaut and produced by Ekta Kapoor. Munawar defeated actress Payal Rohatgi to win the show who had emerged as the first runner-up.
